I couldn't agree with you more. I was irate at the play-calling/decision making BEFORE 4th and 1 & 4th and 26. We had the hammer in that game: Ahman Green and that O-Line was ramming it down the Eagles throats. Specifically in the 2nd half. Mike Sherman wasted all of what Wolf and Holmgren had built. GM - Head Coach? Please, he should never have been either. When you play not to lose, you're not playing to win. When the jugular is before you, you don't stab the toe.

Sorry, just had to vent.....

For years, I have argued that you can win a lot of football games if you can run, stop the run, and take care of the ball. We're doing that now. If we keep doing it, I think we could win quite a few of the rest of our games.

It certainly will be interesting PN...I am pretty optomistic but right now to me it just seems like a little to much to ask for us to win 4 straight. I am still not convinced our secondary is fixed enough since the Dolphins put up tons of yards and the Cardinals just pretty much never went downfield on us...God only knows why.

One thing is for certain if we do beat the Bills then the Vikings and Patriots games should be very good measuring sticks to give us lots of answers about this team.

Win or lose, if we play the same kind of ball controlled, run oriented offense as we have been, AND Favre plays within the system, AND our D can limit big plays then we have a good shot to be competitive in both of those games. If we are competitive in those games that should tell us a lot about this team.

PRC

You may be right PN, but right now I see a completely different Favre playing that the one that played last year. Time will tell if the changes that have been made in the offense will carry over when we play good teams and the Packers struggle or trail and need some plays made...If Favre sticks with the system then you will see much better stats against those top Defenses than he produced under Sherman with IMO an offense that was superior to the one we have now talent wise.

Since we're being honest about our thoughts on the Packers' chances, I tend to be an optimist. This year, though, I'm not feeling it. Too many unknowns this year - interior o-line, RB, special teams, new coaching, favre's frame of mind. Even our D, since we have a new coaching staff in place. I think we're going to be battling Detroit for third in the North. I hope I'm wrong.
